Bus riding privileges are reserved for Wayne School District enrolled students ONLY

Students must ride their regular assigned bus to and from school.  Students will be picked up and dropped off only at their designated bus stop as established by individual bus routes.  No student will be allowed to ride a bus other than their regular assigned bus without a parent note.   If a student damages the school bus, i.e. cutting bus seats, or melting seats with lighters, the student and parents will be charged for total repair costs.    Seats may be assigned by school bus drivers as needed.

SCHOOL BUS DISCIPLINE

1st Offense     Student called by name and asked to correct behavior by bus driver

2nd Offense    Principal will be notified - Principal will notify parents

3rd Offense    Principal will be notified - Principal will notify parents.  Automatic suspension of bus riding privileges of 3 days.  Students will be reinstated after conference with principal, parent, bus driver, and student, as appropriate.  If the major offense is vandalism, the student will not be reinstated on the bus until repair costs and restitution is paid..

Students denied the privilege of bus transportation because of inappropriate behavior are not excused from the mandatory school attendance laws of the State of Utah.  Parents or guardians are required to have children under their jurisdiction attend school on a regular basis and must provide transportation to school for their student until bus riding privileges are again granted.

If a student goes through the above procedures and inappropriate behavior continues, the principal may suspend the bus riding privileges for an indefinite number of days and until the parent and student meets with the principal and superintendent to determine conditions for the student to regain riding privileges.

SEVERE CLAUSE

ASSAULT, ENDANGERING BEHAVIOR, OR COMPLETE DISREGARD TO BUS DRIVER’S DIRECTIONS WILL PLACE STUDENTS ON THE 3RD OFFENSE DISCIPLINE IMMEDIATELY

FIELD TRIPS AND TRANSPORTATION

Our buses transport enrolled Wayne School District students and staff only. We can transport adult volunteers that have had a background check and have been approved. We cannot transport younger siblings or homeschool students on field trips. With prior arrangements, a homeschool student of the same age as field trip age students can attend a school field trip with a chaperone that has had a background check before the field trip. However, they are responsible for their own transportation to and from the field trip.
